ORIC Italiana S.r.l. produces and sells AISI stainless steel alloys (American Iron and Steel Institute) in all its forms. Stainless Steel alloys boast excellent corrosion, oxidation, temperature resistance qualities, etc… Thanks to these properties, Stainless Steel alloys are increasingly employed in extremely harsh conditions of use.

Stainless Steels are alloys consisting of iron that combine typical mechanical properties with corrosion resistance characteristics. Thanks to the content of alloy elements, mainly the chrome percentage, they are able to undergo a passivation process, meaning to form an invisible film of oxides of thickness equal to a few atomic layers, which protects the underlying metal against corrosion. The passivation phenomenon takes place through reaction with the oxidising environment (air, water, various solutions, etc).
The nature of the passivation film, mainly consisting of chrome oxides/ hydroxides is self-sealing and ensures protection of the metal. In particular, the passivation film can be more or less resistant based on the chrome concentration in the alloy and in relation to the possible presence of other elements like nickel, molybdenum, titanium, etc…
The minimum chrome value required to make Stainless steel is equal to 11-12%.

ORIC catalogue contains in particular a large variety of special metals and superalloys. With regards to Stainless Steel alloys, different formats are available:

  •    Precision castings and castings in Stainless Steel
  •    Stainless Steel bars
  •    Stainless Steel forged
  •    Stainless Steel plates
  •    Stainless Steel laminates
  •    Stainless Steel coils
  •    Stainless Steel tubes
  •    Welding materials in Stainless Steel (bars – electrodes – wires – powders)

Stainless Steel alloys are practically used in almost all industrial sectors, for example:

Food: systems in general – blades – shutters – pumps - valves

Aeronautical: bushes – turbine blades - rotors

Energy: bushes – condensers – desalters – heat exchangers

Plastic: knives – screws for extruders

Metallurgical: bushes – knives - rollers

Naval: parts for bridges – handrails – structures in general

Oil: shafts – bushes – shutters – pumps – housing - valves

Tools: bistouries – knives – scissors - cutlery

ORIC is able to offer any mechanical component in Stainless Steel with a practically unlimited range of products, attaining advanced and cost-effective technical solutions.
